Macom’s MADU FR1012 is a GaAs MMIC 1-bit true time delay device covering 4 GHz to 12 GHz, designed for broadband microwave systems where beam accuracy and signal integrity are critical. By using true time delay rather than conventional phase shifting, the device reduces beam squint, while maintaining consistent performance across a wide frequency range. An optimised switched line architecture delivers low delay error and minimal insertion loss variation.
At 8 GHz, the device offers 5 dB insertion loss, -23 dB input return loss, -10 dB output return loss, and an input P1dB of 13 dBm. It operates from ±5 V supplies and supports 0 V and 4 V control logic.
Fabricated using 0,18 µm pHEMT technology with gold bond pads and backside metallisation, the MADU FR1012 is packaged in a 7 mm, 48 lead PQFN. The technology is qualified for space related use. Target applications include radar, telecommunications, and high-performance instrumentation.
