If you are a mobile user who needs to get connected at different venues, you will know that it can be frustrating finding out what Wi-Fi connections are available. A new product called the 'Digital Hotspotter' can help.
The Canary Wireless Digital Hotspotter, available locally from Nanoelf, is a second-generation Wi-Fi detection and analysis device that provides essential information about most wireless 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi networks, such as signal strength, channel, SSID and type of encryption (if any). It has a clear sunlight-readable LCD screen that shows the detected networks and associated information.
The Digital Hotspotter is an essential tool for anyone deploying or using a wireless network and provides instant information, says the company. It is also useful for students and travellers.
The unit is pocket-sized (67 x 55 x 27 mm, 128 g) and powered by two AAA batteries.
