CML Microcircuits has upgraded its proprietary Function Image (FI-1.2) technology implemented on its FirmASIC-based CMX7031 and CMX7041 two-way radio processors. After listening to the growing needs of global two-way radio designers, CML says that it has incorporated some highly sought-after new features, which are now standard on both CMX7031 and CMX7041 products.
The new Function Image FI-1.2 can be downloaded from CML's web portal, offering designers the following additional new functions as standard: DTMF decoding functionality, XTCSS combo signalling, a multipoint frequency inversion audio scrambler, a NWR decoder for NOAA Weather Radio, WAT and S.A.M.E. demodulator and increased programmability and resolution of the CTCSS and selcall tones.
The recent debut of the CMX7031 and CMX7041 two-way radio processor ICs has enabled leading two-way radio manufacturers to embrace a new style of flexibility, says the company, thanks to the single platform 'one-for-all' processor approach. Multistandard radios can be conceived in a single, feature upgradeable design, decreasing time-to-market along with manufacturing BOM costs.
