12-bit, PC/104+ analog to digital card

21 March 2007 Computer/Embedded Technology

Electronic Products Design has a 100 MS/s data acquisition card available that features two 12-bit, high speed, synchronous, singled-ended analog input channels on a standard PC/104-Plus card.

Analog inputs are connected through SMA connectors and terminated into 50 Ω. Input bandwidth is limited to 50 MHz by default for the user's convenience, although the input bandwidth can be set as high as 100 MHz.

The board is designed to be triggered by TTL inputs or software and each segment is packed into memory until the memory is full. It comes with 1 megasamples of memory per channel with an option to go up to two megasamples. Timing is managed by an on-board controller referenced to a crystal oscillator. The clock frequencies available are divided down in powers of two and an external clock can also be used.

A universal DLL is available for Windows 98/NT/2000/XP and Linux. A simple debug graphical user interface software for Windows is included with the drivers for quick driver install verification and simple testing.

Applications include portable test and measurement systems; ultrasonic testing; CCD imaging, infrared imaging; cellular communications; industrial radar.
