The IPC (Industrial PC) PIP10, from MPL is a fanless, compact, robust, high quality embedded computer with a Pentium M 1,4 GHz processor, and the company says it guarantees long-term availability of the product.
Most IPCs on the market use the reference design of Intel, which was designed with commercial applications in mind. The PIP family of IPCs, however, has been designed specifically for use in environments with vibrations and shocks, such as railway, marine and automotive applications.
The key to the overall quality of the products is in the from-the-ground-up design principle, including the selection of components such as high quality connectors, the design and construction of the PCB, the implementation of effective passive (fanless) cooling, the selection of a high quality, robust housing, and the planning of the final assembly and mounting possibilities for the accessories (which include PMC and PC/104 modules, GPS modules, high speed cameras used in crash test applications, etc).
These IPCs come with an onboard 8-28 V d.c. power supply as well as a full set of onboard interfaces so that no special internal cabling is required.
