Advantech's PCI-1611U is a four-port RS422/485 PCI communication card that is compatible with the PCI 2.2 bus specification. It features high transmission speeds of up to 921,6 Kbps and has high performance 16PCI954 UARTs with a 128-byte FIFO to reduce CPU loading.
The PCI connector is compatible with both newer 3,3 V signalling systems and the traditional 5 V signalling systems. To improve reliability, the card offers surge and isolation protection up to 2500 V d.c. The ICOM Tools utility program allows the user to test the card's performance by analysing the port status. This program's graphical user interface works like a PC-based data scope that lets the user set trigger conditions to capture communication data and monitor a signal's status.
PCI-1611U has an interrupt status register for increased performance and space is reserved for termination resistors. Driver support is available for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/XP Embedded and Linux operating systems.
