Ampro's new CoreModule 800 is a rugged PC/104 system with enhanced features which allows military, avionics, transportation and industrial system manufacturers to leverage existing enclosures while upgrading performance. The system manages to incorporate a complete CPU subsystem with I/O, PCI-104 bus expansion, and network interfaces, without violating the required 90 mm x 96 mm standard board outline.
Featuring the 1 GHz Intel Celeron M 373 processor and capable of operating from -40°C to +85°C without a CPU cooling fan, on a 3 mm thick PCB with optional conformal coating, the module is designed specifically for applications that insist on high reliability within confined spaces and harsh environments, where failures are not tolerated.
This module joins the existing 800 MHz Celeron M configuration to give developers a choice of performance, power consumption, and price points that best suit a particular application. Up to 1 GB of DDR 333 RAM is supported, along with two RS232/422/485 serial ports, two USB 2.0 ports, Intel 82541 Gigabit Ethernet, integrated graphics with LVDS LCD support, IDE, a shared parallel/floppy port, PS/2 keyboard and mouse interface, and AMI BIOS. Bus expansion is provided by the standard PCI-104 connector (PCI bus). For use with off-the-shelf PC/104 (ISA bus) modules, Ampro offers MiniModule ISA, which contains a PCI-to-ISA bridge.
QuickStart kits for these products include cables, I/O board with PC-style connectors, 512 MB DDR RAM, plus device drivers and board support packages (BSPs) for Windows XP, Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE, QNX, VxWorks and a full Linux 2.6 distribution.
