PCI cards for industrial use

6 February 2008 Computer/Embedded Technology

Advantech's PCI-1752U/ PCI-1752USO series features 64 channels and high voltage isolation protection up to 2500 V d.c. The series is designed for lab and machinery automation applications as well as helping to protect systems from incidental harm. The modules also offer a wide 5-40 V d.c. output voltage range and improve application flexibility by offering both sink and source type wiring options.

Designed to be used in industrial environments, the outputs are equipped with a reset protection; in the event of a system or operation failure, the outputs will reset to their default setting, or retain their last output status. Each digital output channel provides the Channel-Freeze function that can be enabled by activating the hardware circuit pin (CH_FRZ_IN) or adjusted in the software settings. With this function enabled, the output status can be immediately locked, saving important data. The Channel-Freeze function eliminates unexpected damage loss, and saves time during software testing and simulation applications.

With a universal PCI bus, the cards supports both traditional 5 V systems and newer 3,3 V systems. The built-in BoardID DIP switch helps define each card's unique ID when multiple cards are installed on the same PC chassis.

The PCI-1752U and PCI-1752USO are available for Microsoft Windows 2000/XP with full support for drivers.
