Advantech's PCI-1612 is a four-port RS232/422/485 PCI communication card that is compatible with the PCI 2.1/2.2 bus specification and offers transmission rates up to 921,6 Kbps. It comes with high-performance UARTs with a 128 Byte FIFO to reduce the CPU load. These components make the system more stable and reliable, making the card especially suitable for multitasking environments.
PCI-1612B, PCI-1612U and PCI-1612CU provide four optional surge protected RS232/422/485 ports and also offer four independent RS232/422/485 ports. PCI-1612U and PCI-1612CU have universal PCI connectors that are compatible with both newer 3,3 V signalling systems as well as the traditional 5 V.
To further increase reliability, PCI-1612B, PCI-1612U and PCI-1612CU offer surge protection for high voltages up to 2500 V d.c.
Advantech's ICOM Tools helps to test the performance of the PCI card by analysing the port status. The menu commands and toolbar buttons of ICOM Tools acts as a PC-based data scope that lets the user set a trigger condition, capture the communications data and monitor the signal status.
