Powerful new component library service

1 October 2008 Design Automation

The Valor Parts Library (VPL) from Valor provides accurate part and package data in an interactive, dynamic format that the company claims practically runs itself. Furthermore, it claims that the VPL is the only parts library that actually lets users extract the information they need for accurate cross-correlation of customer-provided part information and vendor information. Valor DFM and Trilogy system users can take it a step further by using the VPL package physical models of actual parts when running design-for-manufacture analysis, physical design verification and pre-production engineering procedures.

VPL package naming is based on JEDEC standards, and is continually updated by Valor as a global ISO9001 approved service. All physical attributes which affect manufacturability (material, weight, process constraints, etc,) are tagged to the package object.

With the VPL, users can extract the data which fits their specific needs by submitting their Approved Vendor List or library part-number list to receive a perfect match. The whole process is web-enabled, and the VPL is always accessible. Users can submit requests any time of the day or night, and download the corresponding data in real time.

Valor is committed to keeping the VPL up-to-date, but in the case of special circumstances that require a rare or custom-built package, the Parts Library Manager can be used to create custom entries to be included in the library for subsequent use.
