Embedded RF module transmits up to 24 km

Digi International has introduced the XBee-PRO XSC, a powerful, cost-effective 900 MHz embedded RF module that provides up to 24 kilometres RF line-of-sight transmission in the postage-stamp sized XBee form factor.

Customers can now choose from 802.15.4, ZigBee and long-range point-to-multipoint platforms in the XBee form factor.

Compatible with certain variants of Digi’s XStream family of wireless modems and modules, the XBee-PRO XSC is appropriate for use as a pure cable replacement for simple serial communication or as part of a more complex hub-and-spoke network. Digi also offers a complete range of Drop-in Networking box products that use the XBee form factor. Therefore the XBee XSC is compatible with Digi gateways that provide XBee-to-Ethernet, Wi-Fi and cellular functionality as well as adapters that provide XBee-to-serial, analog I/O and digital I/O functionality.
