Axiomtek has announced a high-performance EPIC single board computer, the EP850, which is built with the new Intel GM45 and ICH9M chipsets and supports 45 nm Intel Core2 Duo T9400 processor with a 667/800/1066 MHz front-side bus.
Powered by the Mobile Intel GM45 Express chipset with integrated Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD, the EP850 offers excellent 3D graphics and dual-view capability, and supports numerous display output options including CRT, LVDS and DisplayPort. The computer is particularly suited for solutions such as digital video recorders (DVR), digital security surveillance, gaming machines, visual inspection instruments and video servers.
The EP850 supports dual-view display and has maximum video memory of up to 256 MB by sharing the system memory. A built-in DisplayPort based on micro-packet protocol allows high data rates for multiple-monitor environments using a single signal cable. One dual-channel DDR3 SO-DIMM SDRAM socket supports up to 4 GB system memory. Moreover, this EPIC form factor embedded board features Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2 which is designed to enhance platform security above-and-beyond the capabilities of today’s software.
To satisfy increasing demands for data transfer speed, the EP850 provides six USB 2.0 ports and two serial ATA ports with transfer rates up to 300 MBps. One PCI/104 expansion slot is available for system expansion. Other onboard I/O features include digital I/O, two powered COM ports (two x RS232), dual Gigabit LAN, HD audio and CompactFlash for SSD storage devices.
Windows Vista, Windows XP embedded and Linux are all supported, and a watchdog timer is included to keep the system running smoothly.
