Vectron has announced its smallest fully integrated frequency translator (FCXO) to date, targeted at designers in the communications, industrial, test and military markets, as well as for medical equipment, spectrum analysers and phase-noise measuring.
The FX-501 measures 9 x 14 mm and has an input frequency range of 2 to 100 MHz and an output frequency range of 10 to 160 MHz. Phase-noise at 122,88 MHz is -90 dBc/Hz at 10 Hz offset, -108 dBc/Hz at 100 Hz, -130 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz, -148 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz and -156 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz.
The device operates from 3,3 V and provides an LVCMOS output. It is supplied in a surface mount package which is compatible with reflow processes.
