Vishay recently announced the release of two new wet tantalum capacitors that are offered in a surface-mountable moulded package, optimised for power supplies in avionics, military and space applications.
The M34 and M35 wet tantalum electrolytic chip capacitors incorporate the advantages of all varieties of electrolytic capacitors and eliminate most of the disadvantages. The devices have a higher ripple current capability than any other electrolytic type with similar combinations of capacitance and case size. In addition, the M35 features a 3 V reverse voltage capability at +85°C.
With a wide capacitance range of 10 μF at 125 V to 120 μF at 25 V for the M34, and 1,7 μF at 125 V to 220 μF at 6 V for the M35, the devices feature all industry-standard T1 wet tantalum ratings. The capacitors offer tin/lead or 100% tin (RoHS complaint) terminations. The components operate over a temperature range of
-55°C to + 85°C, and up to + 125°C with voltage derating. They offer ±20% standard capacitance tolerance at 120 Hz and + 25°C, with tolerances of ±5% and ±10% also available.
