Two-port RS422/485 PCI card

10 June 2009 Computer/Embedded Technology

Advantech’s PCI-1601 is a two-port RS422/485 PCI communication card that is compatible with the PCI 2.1 bus specification.

The card features functions such as high transmission speeds up to 921,6 Kbps and OS support for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. It also comes with a high-performance 16PCI954 UART with 128 Byte FIFO to reduce CPU load, making it especially suitable for multitasking environments.

The I/O address is automatically assigned by PCI Plug & Play, and the interrupt status register provides increased performance. Space is reserved for termination resistors and the card has automatic RS485 data flow control. It comes supplied with the powerful and easy-to-use ICOM Tools utility which helps in testing the PCI card’s performance by analysing the port status.
