New from C&K Components is a family of micro-miniature, side-actuated, surface mount detect switches in right and left actuation configurations. Designated the HDS series, the low profile detect switches sit just 1,4 mm off the printed circuit board and feature a footprint of only 3 x 3,5 mm.
The switches feature a minimum total travel of 1,07 mm and a low actuation force of just 30 grams. Contact rating is 1 mA at 5 V d.c., with a maximum initial contact resistance of 500 m and a minimum insulation resistance of 100 m between adjacent contacts. Mechanical and electrical life is 100 000 operations, and operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +80°C. RoHS compliant and compatible, the switches are pick-and-place compatible and available in reel packaging.
Specific applications for the HDS series include portable medical equipment, computing and ATCA equipment, consumer electronics and mobile communication devices.
