With the new CyCore CPU at its heart, Cyan Technology’s new eCOG16E01 is a 16-bit microcontroller that has achieved performance of 0,71 DMIPS/MHz in Dhrystone v2.1 benchmarks. It supports clock frequencies up to 50 MHz while consuming 0,66 mW/MHz. The MCU’s design utilises very little program memory, enabling it to employ a small and cost-effective memory area while remaining large enough for protocol stacks, RF nodes and industrial sensor applications.

The microcontroller is based on a Harvard architecture making it capable of powerful arithmetic operations, and features a built-in emulator. It has 64 KBytes of Flash memory and 8 KBytes of SRAM, and provides a code security feature as well as fast vectored interrupts. Peripherals include four UARTs, I²C, four universal timer/counters providing timer, counter, capture and PWM functions, a 12-bit 200 kSps SAR ADC and 20 GPIO I/Os.
