The SIM5220 from Simcom is a PCI Express Mini-Card module which can be embedded into a mobile device for high-speed data connection of HSDPA, 3G and EDGE technology.
With its high speed of up to 7,2 Mbps for download (HSDPA) and 5,76 Mbps for upload (HSUPA) it is well suited to Internet as well as other usage models.
The frequency bands that are utilised for HSDPA and HSUPA are 900/2100 MHz, while GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz frequency bands are also available. The SIM5220 has GPRS and EDGE multislot class 10 capability, with a GPRS download speed of up to 85,6 Kbps and upload speed up to 42,8 Kbps. The card’s supply voltage is 3,4 to 4,4 V, over an operating temperature range of -15°C to +55°C. High-speed USB 2.0 can be used when interfacing to the device, and it can be controlled with AT commands.
The SIM5220 supports operating systems such as Windows 2000 SP4, XP Home, XP Professional, Vista and Mac OS.
