Advantech has released details of its PPC-A84T, a new generation 210 mm panel PC with a Cyrix GXM CPU. It is especially designed for human machine interface (HMI) applications such as in factory and machinery automation, transportation and healthcare.
The panel PC is housed in die-cast aluminium making it suitable for use in harsh environments. The housing also acts as a heatsink to prevent the system from overheating, and the front panel meets IP65 requirements. As there are no ventilation holes, the enclosure is completely sealed, protecting the system from dust and, when the panel PC is installed in an open space, no fan is required.
A WOL (Wake On LAN) feature enables remote and unattended full power 'on and off' system operation over the network. In addition, the on-board health monitoring function provides CPU voltage and status of the temperature conditions. The power supply, HDD and video capture card are easily removed for maintenance or exchange.
