Multichip modules which integrate all standard PC features in a credit card-sized package make smartModule the perfect choice for OEMs seeking high performance in the smallest of footprints. With all signals and interfaces connected to the smart480bus connector, Digital Logic's new module does not require cabling. The P5PC smartModule integrates with a P5 CPU and in addition to all common PC interfaces, it also includes video. Giving 166 or 266 MHz processor performance, the P5PC runs 69000, 2 MB, VGA LCD with 36 bit resolution, has 32 MB of DRAM, a 1k EEPROM, keyboard, mouse, floppy and hard disk interfaces and one parallel/two serial ports. Particularly frugal with power, the P5PV requires a 5 V supply and runs at 800 mA to 1500 mA typical. There are onboard watchdog and power management systems and communications are assisted via USB and LAN devices.
