Hittite has introduced two new GaAs MMIC I/Q up-converters that operate from 21 to 27 GHz and from 17,7 to 23,6 GHz respectively. Both devices are suitable for a wide range of applications including microwave radio, EW, ELINT, radar, SATCOM, test equipment and sensors.
Operating from 21 to 27 GHz and from 17,7 to 23,6 GHz respectively, the HMC815LC5 and the HMC819LC5 are compact GaAs MMIC I/Q up-converters which feature a driver amplifier preceded by an I/Q mixer, where the LO is driven by an active x2 multiplier. This I/Q mixer topology is highly beneficial for microwave radio applications, since unwanted sideband filtering is reduced. The I/Q up-converters also provide small signal gain conversion of 12 to 15 dB with +20 and +35 dB of sideband rejection, respectively. They exhibit excellent 2 LO to RF isolation of up to 12 dB, with output IP3 is as high as +35 dBm.
