I/O connector withstands vibrations

21 July 2010 Interconnection

The new Industrial Mini I/O connector system from Tyco Electronics features two points of contact to maintain performance and increase reliability in high vibration environments.

The compact connector, approximately one-fourth the size of a traditional RJ45 plug, includes a latching system designed to protect the plug from pull-out during high vibration or collision.

The polarised, wire-to-board interface features two keying options to prevent mismating and consists of eight individual circuits to accommodate I/O signals. Electrical specifications include a current rating of 0,5 Amps and a 30 Volt rating on 0,635 mm centreline spacing. The connector’s operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +70°C with a durability of 1500 cycles. Product offering includes SMT and through-hole configurations. The product meets Cat5e requirements when used in Ethernet applications.
