Z-Communications’ new SFS6400A-LF is an RoHS-compliant fixed frequency synthesiser in C-band. It is a single frequency synthesiser that operates at 6400 MHz and features a typical phase noise of -88 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset and typical sideband spurs of -65 dBc. It is targeted at point-to-point and satellite communication applications that require low phase noise performance.
The device is designed to deliver a typical output power of 6 dBm with a VCO voltage supply of 5 V d.c. while drawing 40 mA and a phase locked loop voltage of 3 V d.c. while drawing 11 mA over the temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The synthesiser features typical second harmonic suppression of -20 dBc and comes in Z-Comm’s PLL-V12N package measuring 15 x 15 x 3,3 mm. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements and is compatible with automated surface mount assembly and reflow systems.
