IDT's RC32355 integrated communications processor, targeted at customer premise equipment (CPE) provides a complete hardware and software solution for designers of gateway system equipment. Based on the MIPS instruction set architecture, the RC32355 comprises IDT's 32-bit RISCore 32300 CPU processor core, which operates up to 150 MHz; a controller for generic interfaces, including memory, serial ports and timers; and on-chip peripherals targeted at specific communications applications. On-chip communications peripherals include: an Ethernet MAC unit capable of 10- and 100-Mb operation; 25-Mb ATM SAR controller; a 12-Mb USB controller, fully compatible with USB specification 1.1; an industry-standard TDM bus interface to provide direct connection to external voice circuitry. It is packaged in 208-pin PQFP.
