AAEON has launched the AEC-6620 embedded controller, an upgrade to the AEC-64XX series. It is a low-cost computer that belongs to the fanless intelligent transportation series and targets public transportation system and infrastructure applications.
The AEC-6620 adopts Intel’s Atom N270 processor (up to 1,6 GHz) and equips one DDR2 SODIMM (maximum 2 GB system memory). In addition, it offers two Gigabit Ethernet ports for fast network communications and includes one internal CompactFlash slot for storage. The system also accommodates one RS232/422/485 port, four USB 2.0 ports, VGA, and a line out to satisfy the basic demands of media broadcasting. To meet transportation market demands, the AEC-6620 provides ATX/ACPI power function and supports DC input and optional AC input. It is compatible with common operating systems such as Windows XP Pro Embedded, Windows XP Embedded, Windows 7 and Linux.
The AEC-6620 is constructed from a rugged aluminium alloy chassis with a patented heat spreading design. It can be wall or DIN rail mounted. This model is mobile, resists vibrations and can handle harsh environments with the requirements of wide operating temperature range.
