In order to comply with the requirements for I/O communication in real-time, Phoenix Contact has introduced the new Axioline real-time I/O system for control cabinets. Using Axioline, response times of less than 1 ms can be achieved thanks to an offset of only 1 μs per I/O module. In this case, the higher-level network exclusively defines the system speed.
The I/O system is simple to handle: it uses the PIT direct connector system for wiring without tools, which Phoenix Contact already uses in its Clipline terminal block system. Outlets at both sides of the station ensure transparent cabling in the control cabinet. An integrated I/O tester reads in the station via a USB interface without requiring an additional network or additional control, and tests the inputs and outputs. The station can be transparently and clearly labelled using the Bluemark high-speed printer.
The I/O system exhibits a robust mechanical design and EMC, is tested for continuous shock, and has a wide temperature range. Thanks to its low radiation, it is certified for residential areas and office environments. The system with IP20 protection is open for all Ethernet-based communication protocols and is optimised for Profinet.
