Laird Technologies has released a new vertically polarised, direct-mount omnidirectional antenna.
The OC51505 operates in the 5150 to 5875 MHz band with 5 dBi gain and linear vertical polarisation (VPOL). VPOL increases the range of the antenna over hilly terrain and also minimises the reception of interfering horizontally polarised (HPOL) UHF and VHF signals that are common in densely populated areas.
The OC51505 is specifically designed to be used in outdoor or indoor WLAN applications. Its rugged, lightweight, UV water resistant housing is fitted with an integrated RF connector that is embedded in the base cap for direct mounting to WLAN access points.
Special venting permits either upright or inverted orientation in outdoor locations. The OC51505 may also be pole-mounted when separation from the access point is required for optimum positioning.
