AAEON has phased in a new embedded PC based on the Intel Atom D510 processor with up to 2 GB of DDR2 SODIMM system memory.
The LCD/CRT controller of the AEC-6612 is integrated into the D510 and shares the system memory (up to 384 MB). The computer features rich I/O interfaces, and customers can select two COM and two USB ports for a standard deployment or equip an optional six COM ports and six USB 2.0 ports for an advanced installation.
For fast network communication, this model equips two Gigabit Ethernet ports. It also features two PCI-Express Mini-Card slots that allow end users or VARs to integrate to existing systems and meet the requirements of demanding niche markets. The computer is compact at 197 x 57 x 112 mm and deploys a 2,5” SATA hard disk drive bay and an easy accessible CompactFlash slot for large storage requirements. The passive heat-spreading system is based on an aluminium alloy chassis.
Power is provided via a wide DC input range from 9 to 30 V with ATX/ACPI power mode that supports Intel Hyper Threading technology. Alternatively, a model with 12 V d.c. input is available for cost-effective purposes. The AEC-6612 is compatible with common operating systems such as WinCE 6.0, Windows XP Embedded, Windows XP, Windows 7 and Linux Fedora.
The unit is suitable for a variety of embedded applications, especially in the transportation market. Other key application areas include factory control, building automation, marine, vehicle, traffic light systems and machine automation.
