RS485 transceivers

Analog Devices has introduced the ADM2682E and ADM2687E, two single-chip 5 kVrms signal- and power-isolated RS485 data transceivers that meet the safety isolation requirements of high-voltage systems in motor, power and energy control systems. They also feature ±15 kV ESD protection on the bus pins.

The devices are designed with Analog Devices’ iCoupler isolation technology and combine a 3-channel isolator, a three-state differential line driver and a differential input receiver based on Analog Devices’ isoPower isolated DC-DC converter technology. They are packaged in a 10 x 13 mm surface mount package with greater than 8 mm minimum creepage and clearance. The ADM2682E and ADM2687E achieve data rates of 16 Mbps and 500 Kbps, respectively. They are powered by a single 5 V or 3,3 V supply and are fully specified over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
