Axiomtek has launched a new low-power embedded computer – the eBOX620-800-FL – offering fanless cooling, wide operating temperature and flexible expandability. The rugged computer is suitable for applications requiring a power-optimised and rich graphics platform, such as digital signage, gaming, industrial control automation, POS, kiosk and medical equipment.
The embedded box computer utilises the low-power, single-core Intel Atom processor N450 1,66 GHz and the dual-core Atom D510 1,66 GHz with Intel ICH8M I/O controller hub. One 200-pin DDR2 SODIMM socket supports up to 2 GB system memory. The system operates between -10°C and +55°C and its fanless design means that it operates without noise.
The eBOX620-800-FL has storage interfaces including a 2,5” SATA hard disk drive bay and a front-accessible CompactFlash slot. For custom system configurations, it has one PCI Express mini card slot, and also features four USB 2.0 ports, three COM ports (one x RS232/422/485 and two x RS232), dual Gigabit Ethernet, VGA and audio. The system supports various embedded operating systems including Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded (XPE) and Linux. It can be wall-mounted or stand-mounted and has a built-in watchdog timer to reset the system after a crash or system error.
