CP Cases, the UK-based specialist designer and manufacturer of protective rack mount enclosures and transit cases, is now supplying the Swedish Armed Forces with air conditioned 19” transit racks. The ongoing need for protective equipment is an essential tool in being able to organise and deploy defence materials in critical conditions.
At the Counter Terror Expo 2011, the company was approached by the Swedish Armed Forces with requirements for cases based on the following:
* Adaptable to different climates.
* Drop and impact protected.
* Easily portable for indoor and outdoor use.
* NATO colours available.
* Removable 19” internal chassis for equipment access and maintenance.
The resultant product is ERACK, which has the operational advantages of being lightweight, robust and portable for rapid deployment in the field. The protection of equipment in this application provides protection against physical, climatic and electromagnetic hazards. The internal 19” chassis allows for rapid ‘no tools required’ removal and CP Cases supplied its EasyGlide support cage to accomplish this requirement.
Access to the front and rear is via precision manufactured interchangeable lids which are secured to the rack body by front mounted, quarter turn latches (allowing front and rear access when stacked). Positive location between lids and body is achieved by ERACK’s unique male/female patented rim fold which incorporates a silicon seal giving all-weather protection to MIL STD 810F.
The addition of a cooler collar system allows cooling and heating options for different climates with options for either DC or AC from 12 V to 240 V power supply.
