Phoenix Contact has added five new ILC 1x1 compact controllers to its 100 series. All of the devices have an SD card slot allowing their Flash memory size to be increased to up to 2 GB. This feature makes them especially suitable for data-logging applications.
Licensing of module libraries that are charged for, such as the IT library or the closed-loop control system library, has been simplified. If a user requires a licence, this is released when the corresponding card is inserted into the controller.
As an additional function, the controller firmware also supports Modbus/TCP communication. This means that only two steps are required for configuring and commissioning, and the user does not have to program anything. Modbus communication can also be implemented using function modules.
