Precision Devices has announced a new product for frequency control, in the form of LC filters for customised frequency control needs.
The initial standard line of LC bandpass filters has a 10% bandwidth in the frequency range of 5 MHz to 100 MHz. Depending on requirements, these can have either 40 dB (3:1 shape factor) or 60 dB (3:1 or 2,5:1 shape factor) stop-band attenuation characteristics.
These filters are able to work in a wide range of operating temperatures from -55°C to +105°C suited to industrial, military and space applications. The return loss of the standard series is guaranteed to be 12 dB minimum across the band of interest. Typically this will be 15 dB minimum both on S11 and S22 measurements.
Filters requiring 40 dB stop-band attenuation are available in a small SMD package of 25,4 x 12,7 x 7,4 mm. For filters requiring 60 dB attenuation and higher selectivity, a larger SMD package is available of 38,1 x 12,7 x 7,4 mm. Custom packaging is available to meet individual needs.
This line of filters can also be manufactured in through-hole packages as well as connectorised packages. Manufacturing and reliability methods can be incorporated for those products that require special hermetic and ruggedising applications.
With rapid prototyping capabilities, the manufacturer can offer a quick turnaround for any frequency from 5 MHz to 100 MHz. For higher frequencies and custom bandwidths, its engineering team will work with customers to design the right custom filter to meet their needs.
