Rugged COTS computer

27 June 2012 Computer/Embedded Technology

The CRS-C4I-3CC2 from GE Intelligent Platforms is a packaged, pre-validated 4-slot control computer system fully integrated and ready for deployment. The rugged COTS system is available without non-recurring engineering costs and is well suited for applications requiring rock-solid reliability such as civilian and military UAVs, manned commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, over- and under-water research vessels, ground vehicles and locomotives.

The CRS-C4I-3CC2 Application Ready computer system can be deployed in the field as soon as the customer’s application is ready, or they can use the CRS-C4I-3CC2 as a starting point for multiple application-specific configurations. The system successfully integrates GE Intelligent Platforms boards and modules, drawn from GE’s wide selection of COTS boards, into open modular systems that are tested and qualified for rugged systems deployment.

For CRS-C4I-3CC2 systems containing 1553 or ARINC interfaces, the manufacturer also includes the Integrated Avionics Library, a full suite of C functions that can be used to perform many common card functions, thus reducing software development time.
