AAEON recently released a stainless steel embedded controller. The AEC-6511 is designed for unique markets that require waterproof, dustproof and anti-corrosion capabilities, with a system chassis and connectors specially designed to fulfil these requirements.
The system integrates an Intel Atom N270 processor at only 10 W and utilises the Intel 945GSE + ICH7M chipset. It has DDR2 SDRAM SODIMM with a maximum of 2 GB for system memory. To satisfy storage requirements, there is a CompactFlash slot and a 2,5” SATA 1,5 Gbps HDD bay.
The AEC-6511 has a Gigabit Ethernet port for fast networking connections. For I/O interfaces, it offers two USB2.0 ports, two COM ports, one power input and one power switch; all connectors maintain IP67 protection. Moreover, system developers can use the internal Mini PCI slot for adding Wi-Fi and other expansion cards.
