In order to provide the complete firewall product line, Lanner Electronics has introduced a product called the FW-500. The design of this product, including its smart appearance, high functions and performance are especially designed for security applications for the small business or SOHO (small office home office) user. Lanner developed the FW-500 as dedicated hardware to offload the effort of a software house porting its embedded firewall application with sufficient drivers.
In a compact form factor it is especially suitable as a firewall appliance for remote offices and branch offices.
