Small 4-slot industrial PC box

15 August 2001 Computer/Embedded Technology

The AEC-6100 Industrial Mini PC box from Aaeon is an ideal housing unit for system integration using any compact card from the company's PC line of compact single board computers. The AEC-6100 special size of 19,1 cm (L) x 21,6 cm (W) x 6,4 cm (H) gives end-users flexibility in movement and placement. Application adapters such as four RS232 ports, one parallel port, and four USB ports are at the rear of the chassis.

There are also two connectors for P/S 2 (mouse and keyboard), Ethernet, three LED indicators, one reset button, MIC_in, Line_in, and Line_out. During the initial designing stages of the Mini PC box, placement of the internal devices was crucial. An exterior air inlet was designed into the roof of the Mini PC box to reduce overheating. In the front of the Mini PC box, there is a slot for installing and retrieving a compact flash card that will offer a larger memory bank.

The Mini PC box is built to house a 2,5" hard drive, however a floppy disk or CD-ROM connection is also possible. Located on the side of Mini PC box is a removable panel, allowing the floppy drive or CD-ROM cable easy entry to the computer board. Located next to the floppy drive slot is a traditional power terminal while a power button is also designed in an easy-to-reach area located next to the power terminal.

The AEC-6100 Mini PC box allows for ease of movement with its overall weight of 2,3 kg.
