17 GHz wireless links

Multisource Telecoms has introduced Alcoma’s 17 GHz range of wireless link products to the South African market. Designed as a high capacity, carrier-grade backhaul data link system, this range offers links in the freely available and uncongested band of 17 GHz. Not only are these frequencies licence-free and largely unused, but they are also well outside of the frequency interferences of the mass-market 2,4 GHz and 5,8 GHz multipoint access market.

The Alcoma range is useful for Internet service providers and for large organisations that require reliable communication transfer systems, such as banks, companies with multiple branches and security companies using CCTV monitoring.
