Shielded power inductors

1 May 2013 Passive Components

Bourns has released two new series of high-current, shielded power inductors in the form of Models SRP5030T and SRP6540.

The components are designed with moulded construction of an iron powder core that offers a compact size, low DC resistance, high current carrying capability and magnetically shielded features. They are ideal for use in DC-DC converters for mobile electronic devices, computers, data storage and voltage regulator modules.

Their low DC resistance makes the inductors especially attractive for mobile electronic device applications with prolonged battery life where low power dissipation is essential. Their magnetically shielded construction has low radiation that is ideal for high-density board assembly.

Model SRP5030T offers a 5,7 x 5,2 mm footprint in a 2,8 mm height with an inductance range of 0,33–10 μH, heat rating current up to 14 A, and saturation current up to 18 A. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +125°C.

Model SRP6540 has a 7,2 x 6,5 mm footprint and a 4 mm height, an inductance range of 0,56–47 μH with both heat rating and saturation current up to 18 A. The operating temperature range is -55°C to +125°C.
