Available from Amtek Technology is a range of adaptors for converting between USB and serial data signals. They transmit data on the USB side at rates of 500 Kbps or more, and require no power adaptor since they are powered directly from the USB bus.
Depending on the model, the connectors on the adaptors are either made from moulded PVC or in the form of an assembled plastic shell, and are either black or transparent blue. The adaptors ensure that IRQ conflicts are avoided in the target application, and are suitable for use with cellular phones, PDAs, digital cameras and modems.
