Add-on software for Embedded Internet applications now available for Linux

Computer/Embedded Technology
As an inexpensive operating system and well-supported by many vendors, Linux has become a very interesting alternative for embedded systems compared with commercial OS suppliers. In view of this JUMPtec introduced a new member of its product family WEBtoNET.
The WEBtoNET software package contains a special embedded web server that has a number of additional functions. The integrated Control Variable Protocol for example allows the presentation of changing system data and status via dynamic generated HTML pages. Therefore, one's favorite web browser can become the control panel for every application.
The combination of the slim Linux kernel together with an optimised web server demands very low hardware resources. This makes its use with an inexpensive 386SX system possible.
To speed up customer projects, JUMPtec offers the complete WEBtoNET package for Linux as a Software Development Kit including 100 web server licences. A starter kit named WEBtoNET/SK3, which boots Linux and runs the entire software, is also available. These ready-to-go systems contain, beneath the PC hardware, an Ethernet and ISDN interface. With this, an ISDN-Gateway can be quickly and easily built.
