Company profile: iCORP

4 June 2014 News

iCORP is a broad-based and specialised distributor of electronic components which supplies some of the largest manufacturers and OEMs of industrial, automotive and communications products in southern Africa.

Other sectors and applications serviced include mining, security, vehicle fleet management, access control, biometrics and metering.

Together with its holding company, Innovative Alliance (which consists of both local and offshore investors), iCORP entered the South African market in 2005. Its line card is weighted towards cost effective product options in active, passive, magnetic, optoelectronic, wireless, mechanical and interconnect categories. The company offers innovative product technologies, intelligent application know-how and solution design that is backed by aggressive pricing as well as efficient service support.

iCORP’s local operations, with headquarters in Johannesburg and branches in Durban and Cape Town, are linked via a real-time EDI system to its Hong Kong and China offices, enabling its team to provide customers with current information on the inventory holding of all components that it markets.

More than just a distributor of products, the company believes its range of value added services can prove to be a differentiating advantage for customers. These services include the supply of exact quantities of components that come kitted and ready for manufacturing – everything except the PCB and product enclosure is supplied, easing stockholding and inventory management headaches for customers.

iCORP also offers contract fixed pricing to ensure fixed, firm and delivered pricing for up to six months or even one year. It can also brand customers’ products such as batteries, customise packaging and provide part number coding to protect product patents. The company is also willing to scour the globe to locate obsolete EOL (end of life) parts, allocation parts, long lead-time parts and commodities cost effectively and with short lead times.
