The S5-1010-2R from Locosys is a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver module that can track multiple satellite constellations, including GPS, GLONASS, QZSS and SBAS. Powered by CSR’s SiRFstarV architecture, it manages to achieve high sensitivity at low power consumption in a form factor of just 10,1 x 9,7 x 2 mm.
Boasting respectable performance even in urban canyons and through dense foliage, the device achieves fast time to fix and is able to stay in a hot-start condition almost continuously while consuming very little power, thanks to its ‘Micro Power Mode’; Push-To-Fix and TricklePower modes are also supported.
The module supports 52-channel GNSS and implements multiple interference mitigation strategies, including 2G, 3G and 4G coexistence. A SAW filter and on-chip low-noise amplifier (LNA) are integrated.
