Wi-SUN shines on wireless metering dev kit

Semtech’s SX1272 development kit has received certification by the Wi-SUN Alliance, an association of companies working together to enable reliable, cost-effective, low-power wireless utility products based on the open global standard, IEEE 802.15.4g.

The kit, incorporating the SX1272 multi standard, low-power, long range transceiver, successfully passed Wi-SUN Certification for physical layer (PHY) profile, and has passed PHY interoperability tests based upon products from multiple vendors. In addition, the Semtech solution obtained certification for EchoNet-Lite PHY profile.

Automated meter reading (AMR) equipment vendors, module makers and machine-to-machine (M2M) customers can use the long-range SX1272 transceiver as the foundation for a fully compliant solution.
