Today's computer applications are becoming more complex and rigorous, requiring flexible system hardware and peripherals. Connect Tech has thus introduced the Intellicon-NT960, a RISC-based intelligent multiport I/O subsystem. It offers a flexible solution for serial I/O requirements. For good performance and flexibility, the Intellicon-NT960 is built around a 16 MHz Intel 80960 RISC processor, 512K to 2 MB of SRAM, 64 to 256K of dual ported RAM and 128K of flash EEPROM. These features substantially reduce serial I/O bottlenecks on the host CPU, resulting in enhanced performance for the total system.

In the future, a PCI bus version, the NT960/PCI will be available. It will be fully compatible with existing external hardware, including ACM/16 modules and power supplies.
