Network data collision is avoided with new LAN switches

Network data collisions, resultant delays and slow network performance can be made a thing of the past with the new range of MiLAN switches from Digi International, represented locally by SPS South Africa.
"The Digi MiLAN switch works like a hub on steroids," says Gawie Basson, Sales Engineer at SPS South Africa. "Rather than having to replace the traditional hubs on a network, it is much easier to plug in one or more of Digi's MiLAN switches, which puts the data right through to back plane and avoids the data collisions and holdups which occur through single data stream traffic," he says. The MiLAN switches are auto sensing and require no pre-configuration, making for instantaneous installation and use.
"They do not even require any software, a major advantage over previous switches," adds Basson. "Using store and forward switching technology, the MiLAN switches will allow a 10 MB router to handle a 100 MB network with ease and without requiring any other environmental adjustments," he says.
They are ideally suited for growing SMEs not yet ready to make a major capital investment.
