Standalone GNSS module

The G-Top FireFly 1 (Gmm-g3) module is a 5th generation, standalone GNSS (global navigation satellite system) module enabling both GPS and GLONASS reception with very short TFF (time to first fix), high positioning accuracy especially within rough urban environments, and very low power consumption in a tiny form factor (11,5 x13,0 x 2,1 mm).

The FireFly 1 utilises MediaTek’s new generation MT3333 chipset which supports a number of location and navigation applications, including GPS, GLONASS (GALILEO planned for future support), QZSS, SBAS, DGPS (RTCM) and AGPS. The module supports 210 PRN channels with 99 search channels and 33 simultaneous tracking channels.

The module also combines many advanced features including AlwaysLocate, EASY, EPO and a logger function. Especially designed to cope with the growing demand of the IoT (Internet of Things) to make smaller and more compact devices, FireFly 1 is well suited for wearable devices.
