Peregrine Semiconductor introduced the UltraCMOS PE44820, an 8-bit digital phase shifter that covers a 358,6 degree phase range. This monolithic, digitally controlled product is easy to design-in and delivers exceptional phase accuracy and high linearity.
Supporting a frequency range of 1,7 to 2,2 GHz, the chip is ideal for optimising the transmission phase angle in the wireless infrastructure and radar markets. It provides reliable and repeatable RF performance to applications such as antenna beamforming, distributed antenna systems (DAS) and phased-array antennas.
The PE44820 is programmable in 1,4 degree steps and exhibits phase accuracy of ±3 degrees, RMS phase error of 1 degree and RMS amplitude error of 0,1 dB. Linearity of 60 dBm IIP3 ensures the phase shifter does not degrade the array transceiver’s linearity.
An integrated digital control interface supports both serial and parallel programming of the phase setting. The device has an extended temperature range up to 105°C and a wide power supply range from 2,3 to 5,5 V. It is also capable of extended frequency operation from 1,1 to 3,0 GHz for narrowband applications
