A new low-cost wireless router with one Ethernet port and one serial port has been introduced by Wlink. The WL-R100 is a configurable, high-performance industrial mobile router offering a compact, hardened mechanical design. The product is available as two variants, being an LTE capable device and an HSPA model.
Unlike Wlink’s higher-end devices, the WL-R100 is designed specifically as an entry level router, and does not feature a Wi-Fi connectivity option, however one can extend the LAN network to a separate Wi-Fi access point if required. The device boasts a similar back-end management platform to the high-end devices such as the WL-R210 and WL-R200 families, so popular features such as VPN, built-in watchdog, auto reboot on disconnect, hardware link self-recovery, and others are still present.
The router can be easily integrated into M2M systems and used in a variety of applications where space is at a premium.
