New from SynQor comes the NQ60 non-isolated, eighth-brick DC-DC converter – a buck/boost regulator which employs synchronous rectification technology to achieve extremely high conversion efficiency. The wide input voltage NiQor brick family of converters can be used in traditional distributed power architecture systems or provide a regulated output voltage from a battery source or other variable voltage source.
The NQ60 converter has an input voltage range from 9 to 60 V. The NiQor eighth-brick family can be configured to buck the input voltage down to a lower voltage or boost the input voltage up to a higher voltage using a single external resistor. The output voltage range that can be achieved varies from 0 to 60 V d.c. The variable output voltage makes this device ideal for battery charging application.
The eighth-brick form factor is small and efficiency is as high as 96% at full rated load current. Very little heatsinking is required for this device, saving on space and cost in a design. When looking at reliability, the NQ60 has a field demonstrated MTBF of more than 10 million hours.
